DEEP C HP II Industrial Zone Opening Ceremony
Today 15/5/2018, Deep C HP II Industrial Zone Opening Ceremony was held at the site on Dinh Vu Peninsula, Haiphong city. The ceremony was attended by Mr Geert Bourgeois - Minister-President of Flanders and Flemish Minister for Foreign Policy and immovable heritage, Ms Jehanne Roccas – Ambassador of Belgium to Vietnam, Mr Nguyen Van Tung – Chairman of Haiphong People’s Committee, and Mr Do Nhat Hoang – Director of Foreign Investment Agency – Ministry of Planning and Investment, Representatives of the Diplomatic Department, Representatives of Local Authorities, Partners and Representatives of Press and Media Agencies
DEEP C HP II was initiated following the success of DEEP C HP I/Dinh Vu Industrial Zone. DEEP C HP I, established in 1997, is now home to over 70 projects from all over the world with a total investment of over 3 billion USD, including big corporations such as Bridgestone (Japan), Chevron (America), Knauf (Germany), C.Steinweg (Netherlands), Shin-Etsu (Japan), JX Nippon Oil & Energy (Japan), Idemitsu (Japan), You-Tech (Korea), PVOIl (Vietnam), Petrolimex (Vietnam), etc.
DEEP C HP II will enjoy the same logistics advantages thank to its direct connection to port – airport – highway, the same economic zone tax incentives and the same reliable utilities and infrastructure initiated by its developer in DEEP C HP I. DEEP C HP II targets general, heavy and light industries, supporting industry, with a view to improving supply chain and value added of Vietnamese products. During the ceremony, DEEP C HP II welcomed its three first clients from Korea: Pantra Corporation (rubber part production plant), Pyeong Hwa Automotive (automotive parts) and Suhil Company (raw materials for optical cables). Total area of three projects are 20 ha.
Both projects are located in Haiphong, the epicenter of intermodal transportation for the north. The city houses the biggest deep-sea port in the north - modern highways connecting Hanoi, Quang Ninh, China and coastal provinces and easy linkage to 2 international airports. Mr. Nguyen Van Tung confirmed Deep C Industrial Complex as a long-term partner who always strives for the best qualities, setting the standards for other industrial zones in Haiphong. The zone contributed to 20% of Haiphong FDI and has created thousands of jobs for workers in Red River Delta.
Deep C Industrial Complex is the biggest Flemish/Belgian-invested project in Vietnam, Minister President of Flanders was happy to witness the know-how sharing between two countries that encourages green and sustainable economic development.
At the ceremony DEEP C signed an Memorandum of Understanding with KDDI - the second largest telecommunication service provider in Japan. KDDI Vietnam and DEEP C will develop an Internet of Things (IoT) via fiber and wireless infrastructure in DEEP C II, enhancing the efficiency in utilities management and operation.
On the same day, DEEP C signed a Contract of Share Transfer with Vietnam Electrical Engineering Equipment Joint Stock Corporation (Gelex) on joining and becoming a shareholder of Dinh Vu Industrial Zone Joint Stock Company - Investors of Deep C I and II projects. Gelex is a leading manufacturer of electrical equipment, with involvement also in real estate, logistics, renewable energy development and financial investment. Gelex has decided to become a shareholder in Dinh Vu Industrial Zone JSC who owns DEEP C I and DEEP C III.
